Well it seems as though this group is getting marginally better each week. I hated much fewer performances this week. I still didn’t love any, but it’s a step in the right direction. Maybe they’ll do better when they’re forced into certain themes.

The girls – I’ve decided that I like Katelyn’s voice the best. She didn’t give a great performance this week; it was a bad song choice, but her voice is great. I also kinda liked Didi this week for the first time since Hollywood. And then there’s Crystal and Siobhan. I know they’re both good singers, but I’m just not there yet. There’s something about Crystal that I don’t like (dreadlocks maybe?) and Siobhan is just weird. Of course, I hate Katie, Lilly, Lacey, and Paige.

The boys – I think I like Lee the best. He didn’t blow me away this week or any week really, but I feel like he has the most marketable voice. As for my original favorites: Andrew…I thought for sure he was just going to do Straight Up again this week, and I think he should have. Nothing wrong with doing the same song again. Ask Carrie and Tatiana (yes, I just put Carrie and Tatiana in the same sentence). He’s just having a rough go of it. Todrick…he was definitely better than the first two weeks, but I prefer the Elliott Yamin and Glee cast versions of Somebody to Love. I might CONSIDER checking it out on iTunes (first song this season). I was pleasantly surprised by Tim’s performance this week. It was quite good – not good enough for a normal season of Idol, but for this season…top notch. And then there’s Alex, Casey, and Aaron. I just don’t get it with them.

Let me talk about “Big” Mike for a minute. I have to compare him to Ruben Studdard. I mean…he’s a big (albeit in a different way) black guy who sings R&B who EVERYBODY loves…except me. He even made a face like Ruben on that big note. I’m just not blown away by him. Maybe it’s the genre – I’ve never been a fan of R&B. I’ve never liked anyone on Idol who sings R&B and I’ve never liked anyone in the real world who sings R&B. That must be it. Because sure, he’s a good singer. I just don’t like him.

Okay, so…my predictions.

Well I’m going to give my patented 100% guarantee that Paige will go home. This is a ONE HUNDRED percent guarantee. Which means if you read this and don’t vote for her, you’re stupid. I don’t make this guarantee often, but when I do…I’m ALWAYS right. The other girl…it could be Katelyn, but I’m hoping it’s not. I’m going to say Lacey. But it could also be Katie. Then for the boys…that’s tougher. I would have said Tim, but he gave a great performance. I’d like to say Casey, but he seems to have the sexual appeal. I’d like to say Aaron, but he has the little girls in his back pocket. I don’t want to say Andrew, but he probably deserves it. And I’d like to say Alex, but the judges seem to love him. So I’ll just guess and say Aaron and Casey.

Final answer – Paige, Lacey, Aaron, Casey (hehehe…that rhymes.)

Results are in tomorrow…I suspect I’ll get 25% correct because I’ve been awful this season with my guesses. We’ll see.

Until then…

PS-Happy 27th Birthday, Carrie!
